As the Program Marketing Manager you will be responsible in leading Child Care and the Center for Community Impact marketing and communications campaigns alongside the Y’s ongoing advancements in early learning, child and youth development, and guiding young hearts and minds. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience managing a spectrum of education, child care, and learning and development initiatives, spanning both proactive and reactive efforts. This position serves on the Marketing and Communications team working closely with teammates and partners across our organization focusing on the Y’s strategic priorities of member experience, equity, staff experience, and philanthropy. The successful candidate supports quality staff and member assets focused on YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

The Program Marketing Manager will:

  • Own the strategic marketing roadmap and provide expert marketing counsel in support of the integrated, strategic marketing needs of the assigned program areas.
  • Identify marketing opportunities, synthesize work streams, and develop approaches to appropriately position the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties to key audiences such as parents, school district administrators, teachers, community members, volunteers, and more.
  • Apply a passion for planning strategic campaigns focused on education, child advocacy, and health as well as storytelling and data-driven communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or related field. Additional or other applicable education, training, and experience necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of professional, non-internship Marketing and Communications experience with a focus on leading campaigns.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills required; with the ability to write compelling and engaging content for Y initiatives and programs. Related sample work may be requested.
  • Experience working with diverse communities (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.) including experience within strategic community impact and equity communications planning.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to be collaborative, organized, communicative, innovative, and creative and who works well in a nimble environment.
  • Experience working cross-functionally, including with policy, HR, legal, marketing, and relevant committee teams including creating and editing messaging for executives.
  • Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Proficient in the practical application of MS Office suite, including Teams and Zoom.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on the first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Youth and child development, early learning, education, juvenile justice, and/or healthcare experience
  • Crisis communications and reactive messaging experience
  • Video scripting/production experience
  • Working knowledge of Adobe and project management systems such Teamwork.

Starting Rate:  $23.63 – $35.43 depending on experience

Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week
