Full-Time Head of Data & Analytics, Community Solar
Job Description
Who we are
Arcadia is the technology company empowering energy innovators and consumers to fight the climate crisis. Our software and APIs are revolutionizing an industry held back by outdated systems and institutions by creating unprecedented access to the data and clean energy needed to make a decarbonized energy grid possible.
In 2014, Arcadia set out on its mission to break the fossil fuel monopoly and since then we have been knocking down the institutional barriers to unlock decarbonization. To date, we have connected hundreds of thousands of consumers and small businesses with high-quality clean energy options. Fast forward to today, and now, we’re thinking even bigger. We have launched Arc, an industry-defining SaaS platform that empowers developers and energy innovators to deliver their own custom, personalized energy experiences, accelerating the transformation of the industry from an analog energy system into a digitized information network.
Tackling one of the world’s biggest challenges requires out-of-the-box thinking & diverse perspectives. We’re building a team of individuals from different backgrounds, industries, & educational experiences. If you share our passion for ushering in the era of the clean electron, we look forward to learning what you would uniquely bring to Arcadia!
What we’re looking for
Arcadia seeks a proven Data and Analytics leader to head our Community Solar data team. The mission: create and manage an always-on system for analyzing, understanding and improving our Community Solar products and services. You will bring your experience of building, scaling and running a Data and Analytics team at a SaaS company and a deep understanding of what works and what doesn’t. The role includes creating scalable approaches to sharing data and analytics across the company as well as deep quantitative inquiries and predictive modeling. The leader will promote evidence based decision making at Arcadia through ongoing stakeholder engagement and will build analytic structures to support this outcome.
Arcadia is headquartered in Washington, DC, and open to fully remote candidates.

What you’ll do
The leader will own Community Solar Data & Analytics and drive it to scale. Your job is to create an always-on, well-oiled Data & Analytics “learning machine” that underpins our community solar product. Many of the building blocks exist today, but need to be more process-driven and have a more systemized approach to achieve the scale we seek. The remit of the role includes developing and managing the organization, alongside establishing the processes and systems to grow and optimize our Community Solar business.
This is a highly cross functional role: you will influence others to be data-driven and lead the Data & Analytics team itself. The Data & Analytics team works with many teams across Arcadia including Product, Sales, Marketing and Operations. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a closed-loop system to evaluate and enhance our products, analyzing and improving ROI on marketing, creating highly actionable customer segmentation approaches and root cause analysis to inform enhancement and prioritization. The role will work with stakeholders to embed self-service approaches whenever possible in addition to deeper-drive analytic insights.
The Head of Community Solar Data & Analytics is a proven leader of people with deep quantitative and technical skills. You have demonstrated success in building and running Data & Analytics teams in a high growth, rapidly changing environment. You create organizations that scale and provide high quality output – you grow and develop your team, build systems that adapt with needs and institute the right amount of process to ensure things get done and get done right. You create knowledge out of data and know that learnings and recommendations are often more valuable than raw information. As such, the leader must be business oriented, highly technically proficient and an adept manager of people. If you are a Data & Analytics leader looking to apply your unique skill set to stem climate change, this is the role for you.
What will help you succeed:
Must-haves:
- You are an experienced Data & Analytics leader who wants to apply your craft toward stopping climate change. You are passionate about data and numbers, and equally passionate about the imperative of climate change.
- You have built and led Data & Analytics teams at high-growth SaaS companies
- You have strong process management skills, but know when process layers become too heavy
- Your Data & Analytics experience covers multiple functions including Product, Sales, Marketing and Operations
- 10+ years in the workforce and a strong preference for ClimateTech experience
- You are also a ‘doer’ and are not afraid to get your hands dirty.
- You have top notch technical skills covering both data and quantitative techniques: data facility, descriptive analytics and predictive modeling.
- SQL and Python are a must.
- You are business-focused, with a strong tether to real world needs and a focus on solving actual problems rather than areas of conceptual interest.
- Eager to work in a fast-faced, growth setting. Flexible and fluid, you make things work and operate effectively in a cross-functional environment.
- You build and deliver data products. You are outcomes driven with strong business acumen; you pick the practical over the fancy.
- A strong communicator who uses data narratives to explain the solutions they build
Benefits:
- Market-based compensation (salary and equity)
- Healthcare, dental, vision, 401(k) and commuter benefits
- Paid Time Off (holidays, vacation, professional development, volunteer, parental leave)
- Professional development opportunities
- All-company lunches
- Free clean energy
- A chance to decarbonize and disrupt the energy sector
Eliminating carbon footprints, eliminating carbon copies.
