Full-Time DE&S Diversity and Inclusion Manager
Job Description
Salary
£32,300 – £38,000 per annum (plus benefits)
Job description
This exciting Senior HR role, which will report into the Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Lead, will see the successful candidate delivering the organisations’ Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) strategy and annual plan with key metrics to support DE&S’ target organisational Vision and Culture, for both Civilian and Military staff. This role will require regular interaction with the Executive and wider Senior Leadership Group as well as other key internal and external stakeholders. As such, this role is enormously exciting, and will truly provide the post holder with the opportunity to work on key initiatives that will deliver real change, and impact the on-going employer brand of DE&S. As well as driving change, you’ll need to be the sort of person who is comfortable being an ambassador for the HR function, and to be a subject matter expert, both internally, externally and within the wider MOD, on D&I.
Responsibilities
Diversity and Inclusion transformation is hugely important. This role requires an individual who is a positive disruptor, who can drive change across the entire organisational landscape in a credible way. You will be innovative in your approach, and your application must demonstrate this, while outlining your key achievements in the D&I space. You will be the sort of person who can drive and improve processes, and have experience of working with diverse stakeholder groups. If your D&I background is from the Public Sector, it may put you at an advantage as you will bring working knowledge of the Public Sector Equality Duty. However, experience in the Private Sector is welcome. An essential requirement, from either public or private sector background is the demonstration of achievements in diversity and inclusion – how you have impacted an organisation and truly driven change within it. In terms of qualifications, you will have degree level education or equivalent experience. Your experience in the D&I space is more important though, as is an understanding of the issues faced by different groups of people within a workplace setting. As such, applications are welcomed from candidates with lived experience of a protected characteristic (as covered by the Equality Act 2010).
Desirable Skills/ Experience

• Experience of working within a public sector environment
• Line management experience
• Presentation skills and/or experience of delivering training and awareness
