Transfer Station Scale Attendant

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the weigh scale to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles
• Record weights, material types, and customer information in the computer system
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and direct traffic
• Inspect loads for compliance with regulations
• Collect fees and issue receipts/tickets
• Ensure all operations meet safety and environmental standards
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all site procedures and report any issues promptly

Mandatory Requirements:

• Full compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and safety standards
• Full compliance with Metro Vancouver regulations and transfer station requirements
• Demonstrated ability to understand and strictly follow all applicable regulations and procedures
• Ability to work long hours and shifts of up to 12 hours
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Legal status and ability to work in Canada

Regular Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer skills (data entry, scale software)
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence (preferred)
• Previous experience in a scale, transfer station, recycling, or customer-service environment is an asset

A valid WSBC Basic First Aid certificate (or the ability to obtain WorkSafeBC Basic First Aid ) is considered an asset.
