Job Description
Pay: From CA$20.00 per hour
Job description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the weigh scale to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles
- Record weights, material types, and customer information in the computer system
- Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and direct traffic
- Inspect loads for compliance with regulations
- Collect fees and issue receipts/tickets
- Ensure all operations meet safety and environmental standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow all site procedures and report any issues promptly
Mandatory Requirements:
- Full compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and safety standards
- Full compliance with Metro Vancouver regulations and transfer station requirements
- Demonstrated ability to understand and strictly follow all applicable regulations and procedures
- Ability to work long hours and shifts of up to 12 hours
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Legal status and ability to work in Canada
Regular Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic computer skills (data entry, scale software)
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence (preferred)
- Previous experience in a scale, transfer station, recycling, or customer-service environment is an asset
A valid WSBC Basic First Aid certificate (or the ability to obtain WorkSafeBC Basic First Aid ) is considered an asset.
