Status: Regular Full Time
Location: Toronto, 22 Adelaide Street West, Toronto (currently working remotely but will need to commute to the office when it reopens).

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the Social Media Manager will be responsible and accountable for growing our trade titles by developing, delivering, and executing our paid and organic social media strategy. Supporting brand objectives and goals for the HTP portfolio of imprints & author brands. You will be a key member of a dynamic, highly functioning, and evolving marketing team – including leading and developing one direct report.

• You will insistently develop our social media footprint on multiple channels (adult and children’s), ensuring that you’re speaking to audience segments effectively and competently.
• Drive and shape a data-led performance marketing strategy, leveraging audience and targeting capabilities to maximize sales, promoting a reader-centric approach across all digital channels.
• Manage and create social media advertising campaigns, while collecting data and insights to inform strategy going forward. Communicate actionable, strategic social media insights to the authors, stakeholders and partners.
• Candidate will successfully build, monitor and maintain an influencer database, ensuring we build strong relationships and create champions for the Harlequin Trade Publishing brand and authors.
• Strategize, manage and develop a monthly multi-channel content calendar for social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc., that both supports product/brand campaigns and tells the brand story in our aesthetic and voice.
• Act quickly on insights to make improvements to content to ultimately drive improved engagement and growth on a weekly basis.
• Develop creative and innovative social marketing campaigns and tactics that will drive meaningful sales results; work closely with the sales team to ensure plans include vendor specific promotions and support.
• Serve as the social media expert and content strategist, staying up to date on current trends and tools. In addition to optimizing content for best performing social platforms and types of posts.

Specific training or job experience required before appointment includes:
• 4+ years of related experience and a strong background in social media marketing
• Post-secondary education in a related field (Advertising, Marketing) and/or relevant experience.
• Project management experience required
• Microsoft Office proficiency and experience with project management tools
• Working knowledge of Trello, Social Media Scheduling Software, SEMrush, Canva, & Photoshop an asset
