Full-Time Office Manager

Job Description

The organization’s programs focus on conserving wildlife, restoring habitat and waterways, expanding outdoor opportunities, connecting children with nature, and addressing the causes and consequences of climate change. To support our mission, we seek an Office Manager to join our team in Denver, CO. 

This position is generally accountable for providing administrative support for the day-to-day activities of the Rocky Mountain Regional Center (RMRC) in Denver.  In this role you will coordinate multiple administrative projects in the office, working with programmatic staff, the Senior Operations Manager, the Director of Regional Philanthropy, and the Regional Executive Director. We are seeking an individual that is committed, collaborative, self-starting, with a passion for equity and inclusion, and interested in being a major contributor on a dynamic team.

You will play a critical role as the National Wildlife Federation strives to reverse the decline of wildlife in a rapidly changing world.  This is an exciting time of growth and opportunity at the National Wildlife Federation and in the RMRC, and this role is ideal for a creative self-starter seeking to contribute meaningfully toward the goal of uniting people to protect America’s wildlife.

In this role you will:

Oversee and coordinate the overarching administrative responsibilities of the RMRC office.
Work with the Senior Operations Manager on assuring payments to vendors, processing gifts from funders, staff expense management, etc.
Collaborate with operations, communications and philanthropy to coordinate regional events, outreach, and engagement.
Work with headquarters IT department in VA to maintain office technology and infrastructure.
Maintain responsibility for all office administrative supplies and equipment.
Manage contractual and collaboration agreements and their movement through the legal processes.
Work in partnership to build, coordinate and support the region’s ladder of engagement and outreach efforts.
Coordinate and participate in regional diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice initiatives.
Enact and facilitate hiring, onboarding and retention practices with inclusion and equity at the forefront.
Serve as the main office ambassador to the general public.
Find creative ways to engage staff and lead a positive and supportive office culture.
Qualifications:

Administrative experience, preferably with a nonprofit organization.
Strategic thinker, well organized communicator, and demonstrated ability to set goals and meet deadlines.
Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced work environment
Experience working with a diverse range of people.
Emotionally intelligent.
Takes initiative and has mature judgement, which includes re-prioritization of tasks when necessary.
Experience working independently and managing multiple tasks with minimal guidance.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Ability to understand and/or contribute to the diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives set forth by the National Wildlife Federation.
Capable of bolstering marginalized voices in advocacy.
There will be some local travel within the region for events.
