Full-Time HR Advisor
The HEE HR&OD National Team are seeking an experienced and passionate HR Advisor to join them in the delivery of a credible HR Advisory and Employee Relations Service. As a HR Advisor, you will provide a professional, effective and efficient HR advisory service that meets quality standards and is in line with HEE policies and procedures, employment legislation and HR established best practice and good people management practice. The role will also have the scope to support with HR related projects.
This includes offering comprehensive advisory support to managers within your region, utilising workforce information and data. The role requires experience of handling ER caseload, including complex sickness absence, in a large multi-disciplinary environment. Candidates will need to demonstrate competence in the management of complex and challenging ER issues, an excellent understanding of current employment law/people management issues, the ability to draft, develop and apply HR policies advising on appropriate solutions/best practice which also support the achievement of HEE objectives. All to be backed up by strong interpersonal, coaching and influencing skills.
The successful HR Advisor will coach, advise and support managers in managing complex employee relations issues, such as conduct & performance, to include informal and formal meetings and investigations, preparation and content of investigation reports. Attend formal employee relations meetings to advise managers, employees and unions on due process and appropriate options for decision making.
You will report to the HR Business Partner and will work closely with a network of HR Advisors across the organisation to ensure a consistent approach. You will also be expected to have close links with the HR Projects and Improvement team to develop and foster a culture of high performance working across HEE and develop HR policies and processes that reflect current and emerging best practice in HR and OD. In addition, you will be expected to work closely with staff side colleagues on a day to day basis as part of HEE’s commitment to partnership working. The role is based in London with the expectation to travel to other HEE offices as required.
The successful candidate will hold a postgraduate level qualification in HR Management and have post qualification experience of working in a HR role. They will be an excellent team player, able to share and cover workload.
The post holder will ideally have experience of working within the NHS and use of the ESR (Electronic Staff Records) system, although this is not essential. An understanding of payroll and the job evaluation process will also be beneficial.
