What You’ll Do

The HSE Advisor is a dynamic position – responsibilities of this position will play a key role in the growth and maintenance of the Jamieson’s Health, Safety and Environmental program. In this role, you will:

 

  • Support and lead comprehensive investigations into incidents, including near misses and hazardous conditions utilizing root cause analysis to thoroughly examine each situation and identify contributing factors
  • Following the investigation, recommend effective solutions to address underlying causes and prevent recurrence
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims for our Windsor sites and support escalated WSIB claims across our other sites
  • Conduct hazard assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and risk evaluations
  • Review event cards and recommend timely follow-up on corrective actions, ensuring implementation of any correction actions are completed
  • Track, trend, and analyze incident data to identify systemic risks and preventative measures
  • Maintain a regular presence across all three Windsor sites to reinforce safe behaviors and culture
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and on-the-floor engagement and provide support to the H&S team in other locations to support their health and safety communications and activities
  • Coach supervisors and employees on hazard recognition and safe work practices and act as a mentor to the health and safety team in our other sites
  • Support the development and implementation of office-based health and safety initiatives
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the ISO 45001 H&S management system
  • Develop proficiency in eCompliance LMS and progress toward a coaching role
  • Track and maintain employee and contractor training and certification records
  • Support emergency preparedness by developing plans, coordinating drills, and evaluating effectiveness
  • Maintain HSE systems and support supervisors in their use
  • Ensure all HSE documentation is current, controlled, and accessible via SharePoint and internal platforms
  • Maintain contractor compliance and third-party management systems
  • Develop HSE communications, including presentations, bulletins, and training materials
  • Provide guidance and support to employees, supervisors, HR, and functional managers on HSE matters
  • Support broader HSE initiatives aligned with business needs
  • Travel to other Jamieson sites within Ontario (up to 10%)

 

What You Bring

You bring curiosity, collaboration, and a desire to do meaningful work.

 

  • Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health/Safety required
  • Professional OHS designation/certification (e.g., CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent) preferred
  • 3-5 years HSE field in pharmaceutical manufacturing; food and beverage manufacturing operations will also be considered
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset
  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills to identify HSE issues and partner with leaders to implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Capable of working and delivering in complex working environment and under pressure
  • Strong computer and database management skills
  • Advanced capabilities with MS Office, including MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Safety Software systems like (EHS Insight or eCompliance would be considered a strong asset)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work well independently while understanding when to refer to other team members
  • Certification in Lift Truck operation and Working at Heights is a plus
  • This role requires the ability to walk for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and perform computer-based work at a desk
  • Work environment is primarily indoors, warehouse and nutraceutical manufacturing

Compensation

Jamieson Wellness offers a competitive total rewards package designed to support your well-being and professional growth. This includes base pay, eligibility for our Short-Term Incentive Program, and a comprehensive benefits offering.

 

For this role, the posting range is $62,900 – $94,300 which reflects the full salary range of the position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, level of education, role scope, and other professional qualifications aligned with the requirements and complexity of this position.
