The Email Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing email campaigns to support GCE’s goals and objectives to include audience acquisition; digital subscription; sponsorship fulfillment and sales marketing activities. The Email Marketing Manager will effectively use automation tools, email best practices and delivery standards to successfully engage customers to drive conversion and revenue.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily email marketing and CRM tasks, as outlined within the strategic marketing and communications plan(s)
  • Perform all aspects of the email campaign from content strategy, template design, copywriting, layout, list segmentation, analysis and reporting.
  • Adhere to branding guidelines and best practices to build, test and deploy all emails. Implement A/B testing best practices
  • Manage the monthly email calendar; create and distribute weekly editorial calendars to stakeholders and various departments
  • Maintain database resources, upload files, clean up data on demand; manage communication preferences, opt-out and suppression lists
  • Lead development of compelling landing pages to support digital campaign initiatives
  • Support the development and execution of lead generation strategies to drive attendee acquisition and sales.[DD1]
  • Lead the creation of performance reports and dashboards to monitor campaign performance. Analyze results and recommend methods for optimization; ensure data KPIs are being met and provide feedback insights and learnings to stakeholders to adjust efforts
  • Manage external partner email scheduling, deployment and reporting
  • Complete weekly online training on Salesforce platform and other systems
  • Work with digital assets; make updates to graphics and html codes as needed
  • Collaborate with other teams to align marketing strategies, data collection, CRM strategies and data integrations.
  • Collect creative assets needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Internal: Ability to interact and influence effectively at all levels of the organization (Internal and external relations)
External: Ability to interact and communicate effectively with external vendors and stakeholders

Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience is required; proven experience with email marketing, lead nurturing, marketing automation, and web analytics
  • Ability to understand and implement marketing strategies
  • Experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a MUST
  • Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Google Docs
  • Exceptional proficiency in HTML code. Must be able to adapt and review html codes as needed
  • Data analysis experience and Agile project management will be a plus. Some experience in Power BI or Datorama is ideal.
  • Proven experience in list development, list segmentation and subscription building
  • Graphic Design knowledge and experience; must be able to update creative assets, along with experience using Canva, Photoshop or Illustrator will be a plus.
  • Strong communication, creative writing, editing and proofreading skills. Customer service oriented.
  • Strong organizational, project management and analytical skills; must be detail oriented
