A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Land Vehicle Demonstration and Manufacture project team as the project Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Lead Engineer.

Responsibilities

In this role you will be required to ensure the delivery of the R&M requirements for a complex Armoured Fighting Vehicle project.

As the R&M Lead you will be acting in the DES R&M intelligent customer role, this will involve:

• Managing the MoD aspects of the R&M Programme
• Working with industry and military organisations to deliver the R&M Programme
• Critically reviewing contractor deliverables
• Conducting independent R&M analysis
• Managing project R&M risk
• Chairperson for R&M Panels/Working Groups/Incident Sentencing Committees
• Reporting to relevant stakeholders

Please note: The role will be predominately based at Bristol Abbeywood, but will involve working at UK Contractor and Military locations with occasional EU and Worldwide travel may be required.

What you will be assessed against

To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:

• Relevant Level 6 (or higher) qualification or equivalent experience.
• Chartered/Incorporated Engineer or able to obtain within 12 months of employment
• Experience of providing technical and risk advice at a senior level and leading the delivery of successful engineering outcome in multidisciplinary projects
• Knowledge and experience of project R&M programmes, which may include:
– The application of the R&M case process
– Typical R&M analysis, modelling and processes applied during a project lifecycle
– The Reliability Centred Maintenance process
• Ability to critically review complex R&M related Plans and Reports

It would benefit your application should you be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

• Member of a relevant Professional Engineering/Science Institute or equivalent body
• Knowledge and experience of Reliability Growth/Qualification Testing, Data Recording and Corrective Action System (DRACAS) process (including incident sentencing), Maintainability Demonstrations, Health and Usage Monitoring Systems and Risk Management in the Land Environment.
• Experience of Defence projects and use of Defence Standards
