Full-Time Communications Manager
Job Description
ABOUT THE POSITION: As an integral member of the Advancement team, the Communications Manager (CM) will develop consistent, engaging, and high-quality content to build and maintain Compass Housing Alliance’s voice and brand across diverse audiences. This role will work with key stakeholders to develop external and internal communications, media outreach and management, and share stories of impact across various platforms and projects. They will manage assets to include print and digital newsletters, blog, website, social media, fundraising and event collateral, internal communications, and more. The Communications Manager will also be a key leader in support of the agency’s fund development efforts, including the agency’s 100th Anniversary in fall 2020.

LOCATION: Compass on Dexter building in South Lake Union Seattle, WA
REPORTS TO: Director of Advancement
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday days (plus evenings & weekends for media needs or special events)
SALARY RANGE: DOE and within Compass ranges
QUALIFICATIONS
• A Bachelor’s degree is strongly desired, master’s preferred in communications, public administration, or related field. Or relevant work experience, certificate and/or equivalent continuing professional development or education.
• A minimum of 5-years of experience in a communications or marketing role, required.
• Proficiency in graphic design, a strong eye for visual elements, and/or experience working with a contract designer, strongly desired.
• Experience working on and in support of a fund development team, strongly desired.
• Familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, desired.
