Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, permanent classified Fiscal Specialist 1 in Accounts Receivable. This position is responsible for maintaining and reconciling all accounts receivable items for the College including sponsored programs, business & industry, and departmental invoices. This position also works with students and external agencies on a daily basis to provide accurate information regarding accounts.

Position Responsibilities
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide exemplary service to students and community members both over the phone and in person.
Balance and maintain Accounts Receivable Suspense account.
Monitor the Accounts Receivable Sub ledger report and aging report.
Ensure daily entries are balanced and up-to-date.
Maintain and reconcile all billing for business and industry and sponsored program accounts.
Works closely with departments on campus and outside agencies to ensure that all departmental invoices are current with collection policies.
Assists students with payment arrangements, place holds on student records for debts, send notification to collect payment, and place debt to collections as needed.
Assist and resolve problems related to assigned duties.
Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
Position Requirements and Competencies:
Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Associate’s degree including 15 quarter or 10 semester hours of college level accounting OR one year of professional accounting-related experience.
Knowledge of accounting theory and practice and generally accepted accounting principles.
Computer Skills: experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and specialized database systems.
Communication Skills: excellent communication skills in interpersonal, written, and group settings.
Collaboration: ability to work collaboratively with others.
Time Management: use time and resources to complete work in a timely and accurate manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
Accounting experience in a governmental agency.
Experience with a complex, automated financial management system.
Supplemental Information
Job Readiness/Working Conditions:
Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
The schedule for this position is 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.
Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant’s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
Salary/Benefits:
Starting Salary: $3,052/month Range: 40 Code: 00151E
