Objective:
The primary goal of a Sales Trainer is to onboard and provide training, coaching and mentoring to new Performing Tour Specialists during their orientation period. Our Performing Tour Specialists are inside sales professionals in a high-output environment selling performance travel programs to high school and middle school music directors. The Sales Trainer will also take an active role in development, production and maintenance of formal training programs for the OnStage sales teams. This is accomplished by working closely with all stakeholders across the OnStage product lines to ensure rep training is completed in line with the organization’s needs/goals.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Onboarding New Sales Team Members Prepare new sales representatives by conducting orientation to the OnStage Sales Process which engages team members in a dynamic, impactful, and consistent way that drives sales results
Deliver multi-layered training on the full OnStage product line in coordination with each stakeholder
Develop individual skill sets and drive sales results during orientation period through day-to-day management of new Performing Tour Specialists Accelerate time to sales productivity for newly hires sales reps
Devise strategies and techniques for achieving sales targets
Grow and nurture sales pipeline – Ensure new PTS funnels are on pace to achieve expected sales and revenue goals
Develop individual coaching plans with consistent adherence to weekly 1-1 coaching sessions
Identify best practices, implement and monitor, track results
Implement role play situations/scenarios within targeted areas of the sales cycle
Ensure new PTS meet all measurable benchmarks during orientation period
Ongoing Coaching/Training – continual training and development of sales skill-sets and product knowledge across all team members Proactively communicate to OnStage leadership potential knowledge and skill gaps that may impact the current performance or long-term success of both new hires and the existing sales teams
Deliver interactive, engaging learner-focused instruction through a variety of mediums, including in-person sessions, group trainings, kickoff presentations, Lunch and Learns, and self-study programs
Encourage and enhance participation by facilitating discussion that keeps learners focused and on pace
Participate in coaching sessions to continually build training delivery capabilities and subject matter knowledge relevant to assigned sales and product training sessions
Ensure consistent delivery of the training programs and addresses opportunities for improvement
Assess the delivery experience and make needed adjustments/enhancements as needed
Evaluate sales team performance to ensure incorporation of taught techniques
Document the effectiveness of sales training delivery for each training session
Maintain and update database of sales and product training curriculum
Additional Responsibilities:
Plan, execute and manage team meetings to disseminate relevant information to team members
Attend all management meetings
Serve as backup for any team member who is out of the office
Additional responsibilities may be assigned
Seasonal travel in Springtime to host/assist Festival programs is required
Standard Department Member Responsibilities:
Facilitate and/or perform training of staff members as requested
Foster communication within the department, with other departments and with management
Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures so as to serve as an effective staff member
Support company policies and management decisions with a sense of urgency and professionalism
Seek out and participate in internal and external programs that facilitate personal and professional growth
Track days off; write and deliver self-performance appraisal to the VP of Sales on an annual basis
Identify and discuss personal and professional growth goals with the VP of Sales
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Corporate Trainer specifically focused on Sales Training and Onboarding
Extensive knowledge of learning principles and training techniques
Prior inside sales management experience, with demonstrated success in sales management, leadership and training in a results-oriented sales environment a plus
Working knowledge of sales strategies and processes
Must have proven ability to hire, train, empower, motivate, and create a positive work environment
Effective oral and written communication skills are required
4-yr degree or equivalent is required
Band, choir, or orchestra experience is a plus
Travel industry or K-12 Educational experience is a plus
Overnight Travel Required – 15%
