Full-Time Regional Director – University Partnerships

ABOUT WORLDSTRIDES AND ISA:

ISA, as a division of WorldStrides, aims to transform college-level students through international education experiences, while supporting and empowering institutional partners.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
An ISA Regional Director is the initial point of contact for students considering education abroad from our partner universities in one’s assigned region. The Regional Director, under the strategic guidance of one’s Team Lead, works collaboratively with the study abroad offices and stakeholders at ISA’s partner universities to advise students participating in ISA programs and as well as educate and serve those on campus who support those students. ISA follows the standards of best practices laid out by member organizations that support education abroad, as well as procedures and protocols developed by US university partners for program providers. The Regional Director is a member of the University Partnerships team as well as the regional team to which one’s assigned.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIPS (75%):
• Develop a comprehensive awareness and understanding US partner universities, including the needs, pain points, and priorities of the students, staff and faculty with regard to education abroad
• Develop a comprehensive awareness and understanding of ISA’s relationship with each or our U.S. partner universities, either owned or co-owned. Such an awareness will be developed through acting as the full-service contact(s) and a proficiency of those responsibilities held by Regional Directors, including but not limited to:
o ISA to Student Focused Responsibilities (B to C) (70% of general responsibilities):
• Implementing the “B to C” (ISA to Student) aspects of your team’s strategic plan for the schools you serve, including but limited to:
• Student outreach, advising, lead generation, maintenance and attrition mitigation
• Research, register, prepare for, and participate in student engagement and support activities, such as fairs and other recruitment activities, pre-departure orientations, and re-entry support
• Assist with supervising undergraduate student Global Ambassadors in assigned region
• Assist with strategic utilization of any ISA benefits as set forth in our affiliation or other special agreements and consider refinement of these benefits to best align to their needs and our evolving partnership
• ISA to Campus Stakeholder (B to B) (30% of general responsibilities)
• Provide education and training opportunities to education abroad staff and campus stakeholders, including front-line advisors (peer, graduate, and professional staff)
• Programming and engagements using the UP modalities made available, currently including but not limited to the following (20% of general responsibilities):
• Affiliation and associated benefits
• Program Approvals and Portfolio Development
• Signature and Support Services Program Development
• Other unique outreach initiatives to realize school specific goal (e.g. Curricular Mapping, SPARC initiatives, etc.)
• Assist site visit management team in the nomination and considerations for group and individual site visits and post-visit follow-up for whom you sponsor
• Maintain and expand ISA’s relationship with US partnerships by acting as an advocate for the universities within ISA, as well as an ambassador of ISA within these partnerships and the profession as a whole
• Support Health and safety incident management communications that go beyond needs met by HS&S team, and the Manager and staff on call
• Communicate effectively with campus stakeholder and partners through extensive phone, email communication and video conferencing as well as face-to-face meetings on campus, at conferences and beyond
• Play occasional roles in articulating bids, proposals, agreements and memoranda of understanding as necessary to solidify and define partnerships between U.S. universities and ISA.
• Assist with supervising undergraduate student Global Ambassadors in assigned region
o Assist with strategic utilization of any ISA benefits as set forth in our affiliation or other special agreements and consider refinement of these benefits to best align to their needs and our evolving partnership
• Manage record keeping in the shared CRM pertaining to the universities within your portfolio, including campus visit notes, contacts, program developments, list of approved programs, emergency contact notes, and other CRM data points

ENHANCING THE ISA BRAND AND PRESENCE IN THE FIELD (10%):
• Foster continual maintenance and improvement of ISA’s brand identity, perceived reputation in, and contributions to, the field of education abroad through the following:
o Strategic engagement with professional member organizations and special interest groups (e.g. IIE, NAFSA) as executive management deems appropriate through:
• Active membership
• Engaged conference attendance including presenting conference sessions, collaborating on webinars, engaging with their social media, special interest campaigns, and possibly collaborative research
• Management of relationships with key organizational stakeholders and decision makers on behalf of ISA
o Keep abreast of trends, research, and activities of the competition within the field; reporting those trends back to other ISA stakeholders and members of the ISA Executive Management Team, informing ISA program development and business development strategies
o Determine target aspirational schools with which ISA does not presently collaborate, then develop and pursue a strategic plan to foster these relationships

DEPARTMENTAL, INTER-DEPARTMENTAL, INTER-DIVISIONAL & EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT/COLLABORATION (10%):
• Report on enrollment, trends, opportunities and projects to ISA Management and UP colleagues
• Develop and refine ISA materials and resources that can facilitate discussions with university officials regarding partnerships or programming with ISA
• Coordinate U.S. partner school outreach, student engagement and strategy with members of the other units that focus on sales and domestic relationships for ISA and other WS divisions
• Liaise with partner schools as a representative of WorldStrides more broadly, including general representation of other divisions of WorldStrides which serve higher education partners, including:
o Custom Programs
o Excel Sports
o On Stage
o TEAN
• Seek out and advocate for professional developments opportunities for your own professional development

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES, PROJECTS, AND MISC. (5%):
• Manage one or more special-project foci that fall under University Partnerships purview or which is newly identified and of strategic interest to our division and ISA
• Serve the Health Safety, and Security department in a support role as team member on-call about once to twice a year
• Other additional duties as assigned
• Travel as necessary to achieve success in all of the above. Local and regional travel will be approximately 70-90 days on campuses or at conferences per year

QUALIFICATIONS:
This a relationship-centered and service-oriented consultative sales position. The ideal candidate will possess:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Study/work/intern/volunteer abroad experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Global travel experience, education abroad experience preferred
• Supervisory experience
Desired Qualifications:
• 1-3 years of experience in international education, higher education, or education related industries
• 1-2 years of experience in Marketing, Customer Service, and/or Sales
• 1-2 years proven ability to work well with others under minimal supervision
• Master’s or other post-graduate degree
• Fundamental understanding of the following trends in International Education: Curriculum Integration & Development, Higher Education Internationalization, Global Mobility of Students at the Post-Secondary Level, Best Practices in International Education (Programs & Program Providers) and Diversity in International Education
• Proven success with public speaking, networking, relationship building and working with a diverse set of professional contacts
• Willingness and ability to embrace change and adapt in an innovative environment
• Attention to detail and desire to learn new aspects of the International Education field
