Full-Time Manager of Network Events

StriveTogether – Posted by StriveTogether Chicago, Illinois, United States

Job Description

About StriveTogether
StriveTogether is a national movement with a clear purpose: helping every child succeed in school and in life from cradle to career, regardless of race, ethnicity, zip code or circumstance. We refuse to settle for a world where a child’s potential is dictated by the conditions into which they are born. We work to break down barriers, change systems and improve outcomes for as many families as possible.

The StriveTogether team is passionate, talented and dedicated to achieving our mission. We seek and value all kinds of diversity and work hard to eliminate inequities in ourselves, our organization and our communities. Our goals are bold, so we support each other to try new things, have tough conversations and push for change. As we work, we share learning and progress, use data to make decisions and celebrate our wins.

About the position

Reporting to the Director of Network Impact, the Manager of Network Events supports the success of StriveTogether training and events for network members across nearly 70 communities. Training and events are designed to help communities transform systems, leading to better and more equitable outcomes for children and families. This role assists with several key programs, supporting both facilitators and coaches as well as program participants. The Manager of Network Events facilitates the design of programs to ensure alignment with the Network’s needs and our organizational goals and supports the successful implementation of those programs.

Key program areas may include building youth and family power, redesigning systems, changing narratives, improving cradle-to-career outcomes and building financial sustainability, all with a lens of racial and ethnic equity. Content expertise is not required in program areas, but ideal candidates should be passionate about those topics.

About you

You are invested in bringing communities together to advance racial equity in education and to ensure every child – regardless of race, ethnicity, income or zip code – thrives. You get joy from leading a project from its idea to execution and ensuring all trains are running on time and on the right track. You serve as a bridge between all the teams and individuals engaged in the project. You are intentional in building relationships with others and are able to understand and anticipate the needs of the internal and external partners you work alongside and support. You are intuitive, understanding and responding to the dynamics of the rooms you are within. You feel confident in communicating with diverse groups of leaders and partners and supporting them in advancing their work across the goal line. You are detail oriented in both the technical aspects of the work and the relational.
