Our Durables & Rigids Technical Service team, based out of the Centre for Performance Applications in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a qualified candidate to support the Durable and Rigids markets.

You Will Use Your Expertise To:

  • Support product and application development projects through simulation of the rotomolding process.
  • Apply statistical tools and techniques such as multi-variant analysis and design of experiment to resolve both customer and internal challenges.
  • Investigate the failure mechanism and underlying cause(s) of part failure in support of customer complaints and application development.
  • Provide support and advice on product development initiatives.
  • Provide customer technical support such as attending resin qualification trials, offering processing advice, provide product related training and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through timely and effective resolution of customer complaints.
  • Develop effective, professional, customer relationships.
  • Active application and support of Responsible Care® principles and procedures.
  • Support various product quality initiatives.
  • Represent NOVA at industry associations, like the Association for RotoMolders (ARM)

What We Are Looking For:

  • An MSc or BASc of Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical) degree.
  • An aptitude for simulation software and applied statistical tools and techniques such as multi-variant analysis and design of experiment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships.
  • A passion to provide customers with great service.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Well-developed communication skills including presentation and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills with an aptitude for thinking outside of the box.
  • Effective time management/organizational skills.

Additional Information:

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time throughout the U.S and Canada.
  • Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and be eligible to travel easily between Canada and the U.S. without a need for a VISA (i.e., Canadian passport)

The NOVA Chemicals technology center is located in Calgary, Alberta.  The state-of-the-art facilities, comprised of the Centre for Applied Research and Centre for Performance Applications, focus to support technological advancements in the polyolefins and olefins fields.

The technology center is recognized as the largest in Canada.
