The primary responsibility of this role is to provide project management to polyethylene product research and development projects.

You Will Use Your Expertise To:

  • Lead cross functional project teams (including sales, marketing, manufacturing, tech service, additives, process and product R&D, etc) that aim to develop, qualify and commercialize new Polyethylene products.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects across a variety of markets and polyethylene applications, by developing clear scope, objectives, project plan, budget, timeline, strategy and business justification for each project.
  • Contribute scientifically to key project challenges & issues, lead problem solving and idea generation as needed, and enable the implementation of solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to decision boards/project sponsors when needed.

What We Are Looking For:

Completion of a Masters in Science or PhD in Engineering or Science with a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience. A strong technical aptitude and business acumen is required.

In addition, the successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of PE products and manufacturing capabilities is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated informal leadership skills, capable of working through others with a track record of delivering on commitments.
  • Well organized, engaged and motivated to contribute to the organization, with the ability to respond quickly to changing business priorities.
  • Committed to building strong and effective relationships within the leadership, manufacturing, technology and commercial functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, presentation skills, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently, with an unrelenting commitment to safety.

Additional Information:

  • This position will be located at NOVA’s Centre for Applied Research in Calgary, Alberta.
