SALARY:                                     $35,984

LOCATION:                                 Niceville Campus

FLSA STATUS:                             Non Exempt

Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                            

The Human Resources Specialist is directly accountable to the Executive Director of Human Resources for the following duties and responsibilities:

The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carryout its mission.

  • Process all necessary new hire paperwork for Adjunct and Part time positions to include fingerprints, E-Verify, etc.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork regarding Work related injuries or incidents; guide and assist employees with completing all necessary steps in the Workers Compensation process to include drug screens.
  • Work with all departments in the annual job description review and ensure job descriptions are included with annual salary letter to employees.
  • Provide assistance to employees in connection with any questions they may have regarding payroll deductions, and/or other benefits provided by the College.
  • Assist in scanning personnel files and ensure accuracy in placing documents in Banner Document Management.
  • Assist with employee morale functions on campus as needed.
  • Prepare and process records, documents, correspondence, and other materials of a sensitive nature.
  • Receive and handle inquiries about applications for employment.
  • Assist in processing documents and handling inquiries on matters related to personnel actions.
  • PHI Level:  Full access to PHI (in compliance with HIPAA rules)
  • Process employee data into the Banner ERP system for Adjuncts and other employees as needed.
  • Answer the main phone line and direct all incoming calls.
  • Notary to notarize college documents as needed and assist employees with other documents.
  • Complete offer letters and other correspondence as needed and send packets to new hires.
  • As a part of the college’s risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director of Human Resources.

Qualifications                                                                                                                                    

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required in an accounting or closely related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years college course work in business/accounting.
  • Experience in Windows-based PC software to include Word, Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Human Resources at the community college level.
  • Accounting experience
  • Payroll experience
  • Experience with Banner
  • Willingness and ability to effectively greet the public both in person and via telephone.
