  • S. diploma or equivalent; five years’ fleet maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous supervisory and/or leadership experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL A preferred
  • Class A Mechanic Certification preferred.
  • Extensive automotive and mechanical knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance and PM programs.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel and Word; SAP preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to occasionally lift, push and pull 50+ pounds, reach above head height, squat, kneel, bend and reach.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work “off shift” and on weekends if necessary.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and supervise a team of direct reports and ensure team is adequately staffed, managed, trained and evaluated and ensure all Company policies, procedures and applicable regulations are complied with. Assist team in making decision concerning efficiency of shop operations. Coordinate members of all functional areas to ensure equipment needs are met.
  • Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programs and ensure all maintenance and repairs are performed in a cost-effective manner.
  • Generate capital refurbishment schedule based on need and available capital funding.
  • Ensure that all vehicles are appropriately prepared for transfer or disposal as needed.
  • Ensure proper disposal and documentation of waste stream items.
  • Ensure accuracy of documentation generated by employees for all maintenance activities.
  • Manage parts inventory and ensure the shop is stocked appropriately.
  • Manage within budgetary and operational guidelines.
  • Ensure fleet is maintained in accordance with establish federal, state and company standards for safety and compliance.
  • Maintain and enforce standards of health, safety, hygiene and security.
  • Comply with all company established policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Make recommendations and implement processes to improve the overall productivity, quality and safety of fleet operations.
  • Travel 50%.
  • Other duties as assigned.
