St Christopher’s Hospice is seeking an experienced HR professional to provide expert advice and support across our organisation. You will manage complex employee relations cases, coach managers through people-related challenges and contribute to the delivery of our People Strategy, helping to ensure fair, consistent and effective people management practices across the hospice.

Founded in 1967, St Christopher’s is a leading hospice supporting more than 7,500 people each year across five London boroughs. This is an opportunity to use your project expertise to make a meaningful difference within a values-led organisation.

What you’ll do:

Manage a complex employee relations caseload, covering disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence, flexible working and organisational change matters.
Provide timely, expert HR advice and guidance to managers across the hospice, supporting effective decision-making in line with employment legislation and organisational policies.
Coach and support managers through formal HR processes, including meetings, investigations and the preparation of management cases and outcome letters.
Maintain accurate employee relations records and reporting, working with the People Business Partner ER Lead to identify emerging risks, patterns and trends.
Review and contribute to HR policies, procedures and ways of working, ensuring they reflect current employment law and HR best practice.
Support organisational change and wider People Strategy initiatives, including employee engagement, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health and wellbeing.

About you:

A Level 5 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Significant experience managing complex employee relations cases and advising managers on a range of HR matters.
Experience supporting formal HR processes, organisational change and transformation initiatives, including restructures and TUPE transfers.
Sound knowledge of employment law, HR best practice, equality, diversity and inclusion, and data protection requirements.
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
A proactive, professional and collaborative approach, with excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
You will have a professional and approachable demeanour, and be able to excel working on your own and as part of a team.
You will have excellent literacy skills and the ability to write reports and other HR correspondences.

What we offer:

A rewarding opportunity to influence and make a difference in the community.
Training and development opportunities.
Season ticket loans and cycle-to-work scheme.
Health and wellbeing initiatives.
Competitive contributory pension, life assurance and a generous beneficiary plan.
Free local street parking and some home-working opportunities.
