Position: Young Adult Program Manager

Position Type:   Full time, Exempt

Pay Range: salary $50,080 to $59,999 annually based on qualifications and experience.

Reports to: Director of Youth Services

General Description:  The Young Adult Program Manager is a full-time salaried position responsible for the development, facilitation and oversight of the Young Adult Program. This position requires skills and knowledge in program development and evaluation, curriculum development, managing volunteers/interns, grant management, advocacy, and training. This position also requires experience with youth and young adults ages 18-24 dealing with issues such as mental health, sexual health, juvenile justice, drug/alcohol abuse, housing instability, and family conflict.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Development:

  • This position, with the assistance of the Director of Youth Services is responsible for the creation of the Young Adult Program, a new program at the Center.
  • The Young Adult Program is aimed to serve individuals ages 18-24 by providing resources and support to achieve stability in housing, food security, improved wellness (physical, mental, emotional), and increased community engagement/connections. This program also aims to provide participants with career development support including job readiness training, skill building, interview preparation, and job placement.
  • This position is responsible for developing the programming and services provided in collaboration with the young adult participants and through community partnerships.

Supervision:

  • Student Interns
  • Volunteers

Grant Administration, Program Evaluation, Data Collection:

  • Responsible for management of grants which includes implementation and evaluation of programs and services, data collection including reporting and tracking requirements and generating deliverables for grant invoicing.
  • Complete various monthly reports and annual program plans
  • Work with Grant Writer and Development Director to help identify new funding sources.
  • Work with Director of Youth Services and participants to identify funding needs and priorities.
  • Manage Young Adult Program annual budget.

Management:

  • Oversee all program groups and services and remain informed of any interventions required.
  • Guide the formation and facilitation of Young Adult Programming and other youth related programs, services, and events.
  • Interview, select and provide appropriate supervision and evaluation of internship students including Task Supervision and On-Site Field Instruction.
  • Training/Community Involvement:
    • Develop and sustain ongoing relationships with schools and other youth serving organizations to maintain youth engagement, program referrals, outreach, and educational opportunities.
    • Develop and sustain ongoing relationships with workforce development organizations.
    • Oversee and/or participate in all relevant outreach events.
    • Participate on various coalitions and committees relevant to LGBTQ youth and young adults.

Qualifications:

 Minimum of three years of professional experience working with youth and young adults.

  • Familiarity with local community resources in the Denver metro area.
  • Familiarity with Positive Youth Development and Social Justice Youth Development.
  • Experience working with youth in a community setting.
  • Experience working with youth and young adults with workforce development.
  • Professional, non-profit experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Professional experience with the LGBTQ community is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education or related field is preferred.

 Working Conditions:

  • Responsible for the safety and security of both the physical plant and online platforms
  • Work in hybrid, physical and virtual, environment as necessary
  • Evening and weekend work required.
  • Work in a fast paced and continually evolving youth and young adult environment.
  • May work in outside areas.
  • Occasional lifting to 35 lbs. with reasonable accommodations.
  • Frequent giving, receiving, and analyzing of information.
  • Frequent talking, writing, walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
  • Frequent use of computers, standard office equipment and Microsoft office suite
  • May involve some travel in and around the Denver Metro Area and nationally.
  • Expected to work extended hours as needed.
  • Must be available to work PrideFest weekend every June.
