We have a fantastic opportunity to join DE&S and make a real impact at one of our key Defence Munitions sites.
We are looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer to be based at Kineton, joining a specialist team from a variety of technical backgrounds and disciplines. The team undertake a range of important activities, mainly related to the manufacture of equipment for processing ammunition.
Our Defence Munitions staff work closely with DE&S project teams and front-line commands in order to ensure our troops have the right items at the right time, to train, protect and serve anywhere in the world.
The team act as a contact point for a wide assortment of technical queries across the organisation; and as such you will be responsible for providing technical information related to engineering queries that arise from all departments.
Please note that due to the nature of the projects involved, this role is open to Sole UK and UK Dual nationals.
Responsibilities
Utilising your technical expertise, you will predominantly be responsible for designing and project managing specialist equipment. There will be some variety to this, although often focused around ammunition. Due to the nature of the work, you will require strong Electrical / Mechanical engineering background with CAD experience.
You will also frequently demonstrate your strong communication and influencing skills as the interface between a wide range of internal and external customers and stakeholders, both military and civilian.
This is a dynamic and engaging role, allowing you develop your knowledge, providing design solutions for a wide range of engineering queries highlighting your calm and collaborative manner.
What you will be assessed against
To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
• A relevant Level 4 Qualification in an Electrical or Mechanical engineering subject or be able to demonstrate the equivalent experience in industry.
• Prior experience in designing equipment that uses a combination of electrical and mechanical components.
• Demonstrable experience of having solved a wide variety of technical problems and supporting a team in producing successful engineering outcomes.
It would benefit your application should you be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• An understanding of the latest electrical regulations.
• Experience within explosive environment.
• Possess an understanding of Risk Management, including the production of Risk Assessments and other Procedures.
