Corporate Services offers a challenging and stimulating variety of work in both delivery and support teams. The function utilises the expertise of eight specialisms that collectively enable the operational day-to-day running of the business to ensure that DE&S/SDA delivers its objectives and maintains compliance with the requirements of being part of a Department of State. We cover: Business Support; Comms, Media & Marketing; Infrastructure & Estate Management; Policy Profession; Sales & Disposals; Occupational Health, Safety & Environment; Quality Management; and Security.
Defence Munitions receive, store, maintain and issue a wide range of munitions that used by the UK armed forces to train, protect and serve anywhere in the world. Our Defence Munitions staff work closely with DE&S project teams and front-line commands in order to ensure our troops have the right items at the right time. We work as an important part of the wider MoD establishment that supports, procures and supplies our troops, providing them with a range of munitions from bullets, shells, and flares up to and including and Complex Weapons such as high-calibre ammunition and guided or targeted weapons. Our Defence Munitions staff work closely with the DE&S project teams ensuring the front line commands have the correct munitions to train, protect and serve anywhere in the world.
Responsibilities
You will be supporting the Establishment Support Manager with their daily workload, occasionally standing in for them when required.
You will lead on the administrative tasks for the department, working both with internal DE&S colleagues as well as in-house contractors.
Other responsibilities;
• Track/monitor all Infrastructure works raised by the site and ensure that all issues are responded to and dealt with within the agreed SLA.
• Provide administrative assistance at all levels of task status delivery.
• Check all scope requirements are being met across various projects.
• Raise infrastructure remedial works for site inspections and audit reports.
• Manage/Record all site applications to the VBA (Virtual Bank Account) scheme.
• Provide general administrative support to the ESM (e.g. rewards/presentations).
• Act as a secondary liaison to DIO (Defence Infrastructure Organisation) and the Regional Prime Contractor.
• Assist in the monitoring of contractual governance and compliance.
What you will be assessed against
To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
• IT proficient – there are a range of bespoke computer systems you will need to become familiar with and use on a daily basis.
• Must demonstrate a willingness to learn, a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
It would benefit your application should you be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• Previous experience within an Infrastructure/Facilities role would be advantageous
• Previous experience of dealing with contractors and third-party stakeholders
• WOME (Weapons, Ordanance, Munitions & Explosives) Safety Awareness
