Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) are looking for a self-motivated candidate with the ability to learn on the job.

We are seeking a professional individual to join our IM/IT support team within UK Defence Standardization (DStan) to fill our Junior IT Analyst role. Within this role the successful candidate will be pivotal in supporting our operations in delivering Standardization services for our stakeholders.

Responsibilities

A summary of the role is detailed below as follows:

• Administration of one of defence’s largest corporate software applications.
• Administration of the DStan digital toolset change and transformation process.
• Administration of stakeholder facing websites.
• Administration of an ITIL Service Level Management Project Tracking application
• Management and administration of a media digitization process.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of DStan digital training modules, ensuring accuracy and relevance is maintained.
• Management and control of all DStan IT assets and facilitating smart working team wide.
• Perform the day to day management, configuration and update of a Technical Development network and associated equipment, including sever administration, printer / peripheral configuration and maintenance.
• Act as local point of contact for the internal MOD system, including business driven requests to amend SharePoint environment.
• Provide support to our small IT team members and assist with the introduction of new projects where directed.

What you will be assessed against

To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
• 5 GCSEs at grade C or above and A Levels or equivalent (e.g. HND)
• Previous IT skills or experience gained from work experience or through education in IT
• Generic knowledge, understanding and skills in IT
• Good communication and people skills, verbal and written and the ability to empathise and communicate with users of all abilities.

It would benefit your application should you be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

• Experience of working within an IT project
• ITIL V4 experience
• European Computer Driving Licence or CLAIT
• Knowledge and experience of inventory management
• Good overall knowledge of Office 365
