Job Description
The Social Media Manager will implement and manage digital content strategy across our social media platforms. This includes creating and scheduling content, executing campaigns, and engaging with our audience. You will work closely with our Director of Digital Content and Engagement to bring strategic plans to life and ensure consistent, high-quality content delivery.
The person in this role will report to the Director of Digital Content and Engagement. They will partner with staff across the organization to develop innovative, platform-specific content strategies and track metrics, using key findings to inform our social media strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media Content
- Create and post engaging content across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other relevant platforms
- Maintain and update a comprehensive content calendar to ensure timely and relevant posts
- Write compelling copy for posts, videos, and visuals that align with our brand voice
- Collaborate with video producers, graphic designers, and vendors to assist with campaign execution
- Monitor social media channels for trends and conversations to inform content creation
- Develop and execute an events promotion strategy
- Produce Instagram Lives at a cadence of four times a year
- Manage the distribution of organic multimedia campaigns
- Assist with video shoots and film/edit short-form video content
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with the media relations team, development department, and program units to align content with broader messaging
- Work with community partners and youth groups to create and manage content opportunities
- Provide social media training to organizational spokespeople, attorneys, and experts to elevate their visibility as Legal Aid leaders
- Attend interdepartmental meetings, take notes, and identify actionable items
- Work with a cohort of organizational leaders to build their digital brands and enact digital strategy
- Partner with youth group for annual content strategy development
- Signal boost partner content and identify collaboration opportunities
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Use analytics tools (e.g. Meta Business Manager, Google Analytics) to track social media performance
- Generate regular performance reports and provide insights for content optimization
Research
- Stay updated with social media trends and best practices
- Implement new ideas to enhance our social media presence
- Participate in continual professional development
Professional Development and other duties as assigned

- Continuously learn about forms of bias in the workplace and demonstrate affirmative behaviors that support an inclusive work environment

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field. Relevant certifications are a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in social media management with a focus on content creation, copywriting, and day-to-day execution
- Proven ability to manage and grow social media channels
- Proficiency in social media platforms and tools (e.g., Meta Business Manager, Google Ads, Google Analytics)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and creativity
- Availability to work nights and weekends as needed
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in a mission-driven organization
- Familiarity with design-thinking and human-centered strategies
- Knowledge of graphic design principles and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
- Understanding of SEO and content marketing as they relate to social media
- Passion for staying ahead of social media trends

SALARY TRANSPARENCY
The posting reflects the range of potential salaries for the role. The specific salary offers will be dependent on candidate qualifications, including collectively bargained salary steps for unionized roles.
Salary Range/ Salary: $89,000 – $96,000
