Full-Time Data & Innovation Branch Manager
Job Description
- Oversee programs, projects, and initiatives related to data, technology, and innovation.
- Lead the advancement and execution of our data and technology strategy, including priority setting, decision-making, programs, projects, and initiatives.
- Lead consultants and staff managing innovation projects, including exploration of new and emerging technologies.
- Lead staff and consultants establishing and managing systems, processes, structures, and resources to implement innovation programs, emerging technology exploration, data and technology governance, enterprise data integration, and data analytics programs to shape NCDOT strategy and decision-making.
- Serve as a key partner to the ND Department of Information Technology Transportation Division (DITT) to ensure DITT projects are delivered efficiently and effectively and ensure DITT project outcomes align with NCDOT goals.
- Serve as a senior advisor to agency leadership on innovation, data and technology. The position has broad involvement and understanding in NCDOT and DITT operations and business functions to inform strategy and work priorities.
- Lead or serve on internal working groups and committees related to strategic planning, data governance, and performance management.
- Participate in national committees, councils, and workgroups related to innovation, data, technology, and transportation performance management.
- Transportation industry knowledge, including trends and challenges that may impact NCDOT goal setting and decision-making.
- Knowledge of data and technology systems, data analytics, and technology application solution capabilities, such as data storage, data integration, and other approaches to business solutions.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to management, project sponsors, stakeholders, and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical projects, including establishing milestones and maintaining progress toward project goals.
- Management experience in the public or private sectors involving significant decision-making authority in the planning, organizing, and directing of an assigned program.
- Bachelor’s degree, and
- 5+ years of relevant experience, and
- 3+ years management experience in the public or private sectors involving significant decision-making authority in the planning, organizing, and directing of operations; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
