Job Description
- Manage our monthly reconciliation of multiple NCTA Bond accounts to ensure compliance with financial processes and reporting related to NCTA specific operations.
- Maintain our Cash Flow Worksheet required for annual CAFR.
- Reconcile daily, statewide deposits including Fiscal receipts, ferry memorabilia and tolls, overweight/oversize permits, Federal Aid and Motor Fuel Collections.
- Create and post journal entries and create, change, post, and display recurring entries. Treatment of entries might include creating parked documents, reversing, and recreating documents to reconcile cash balances.
- Monitor account balances, miscellaneous financial and managerial reports and displays accounts, documents, and master data.
- Create funds transfers payable to counties for Right of Way transactions and approve funds transfers for other NCDOT/NCTA activities.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Considerable knowledge of government accounting methods, procedures, and financial practices.
- Skills interpreting and applying complex Federal/State fiscal regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to use accounting judgment and theory to a wide variety of situations not covered by regulations or precedent.
- Experience developing complex accounting worksheets and reports.
- Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related discipline, and
- 18 semester hours of accounting; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
