Full-Time Marketing Web Analyst
Job Description
What does the Marketing Web Analyst role look like?
As a Web Analyst, you’ll be trusted to provide insights into what actions visitors across our marketing website, blog, and landing pages are taking, how their behaviour and path to conversion is changing over time, and what problems you believe need to be solved in order for us to see more small business owners choose to sign up for a free trial with Bench.
You’ll partner closely with members of the marketing team focused on content creation, paid acquisition, and website optimization who will rely on you to inform them of the problems they need to solve in order to unlock growth at the top of the funnel. Your team members will have a strong understanding of our web analytics tools and are capable of performing some analyses of their own, but will depend on your expertise for a truly advanced understanding of our web visitor behaviour. We believe that through this partnership we can ensure resources are being devoted to addressing the traffic and conversion problems that will truly move the needle once solved.
In order to be successful in this role you will need to be comfortable working in an environment where you develop the processes that allow you to work most effectively as you will be Bench’s first dedicated Web Analyst. Web analytics tools are in place and will be ready for you to leverage immediately but your experience will be required to ensure they are consistently maintained and optimized. Ultimately, a high degree of expertise and a relentless desire to uncover new insights will help you excel in this position and have a significant impact on the success of not only the Marketing team, but Bench as a whole.
What you’ll get up to:
- Analyzing how visitors are moving through our marketing website, blog, and landing pages, and providing your recommendations to the marketing team on where efforts can be focused to increase the likelihood a visitor chooses to start a free trial with Bench
- Developing, monitoring, and reporting on web health metrics that communicate whether a particular visitor journey is showing abnormal behaviour that needs to be investigated
- Leading investigations into abnormal or unexpected web visitor behaviour and providing the marketing team with a narrative explaining the root cause
- Maintaining existing web analytics tools to ensure their capabilities are being maximized and identifying new tools or solutions that may improve your analyses
- Supporting with the forecasting of traffic and conversion across top of funnel acquisition channels periodically throughout the year
- Creating and maintaining dashboards as needed to provide a consistent narrative for top of funnel performance, and sharing the insights from this narrative with decision makers across Bench through meetings and presentations
What you’ll need:
- 5+ years of experience in a web analyst role, or equivalent where analysis was provided for digital marketing purposes
- Proficiency with Google Analytics or Heap Analytics, and Tableau including their use, implementation, and maintenance
- Experience reporting on marketing strategies involving inbound marketing tactics such as Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and gated assets, as well as paid marketing
- Experience reporting the findings and recommendations of your web analyses to marketing experts
- A determination to uncover ‘why’ a visitor journey may or may not be leading to a desired action
- Comfort in an environment where you must determine for yourself the right processes to accomplish your goals, as opposed to relying on pre-existing guidelines
It could be an even better fit if you:
- Experience conducting web analyses for a SaaS company
- Experience providing tactical marketing strategies to address the findings of your analyses
- Proficiency with SQL
- Experience planning and analyzing A/B tests
What you’ll get:
- At Bench we share information freely and openly whenever possible. The salary range for this role is $70,880 – $88,600 per year, depending on experience.
- In addition, we offer an extended benefits package that includes paid vacation, unlimited paid flex days, stock options, and full health, dental, and vision.
- You’ll get unlimited access to Inkblot Therapy, our virtual counselling service to support mental wellbeing, and Bravely, our confidential, on-demand, 1:1 professional coaching service.
- Bench has a number of Affinity Groups – groups of people who have shared identities and experiences! The purpose of these groups is to support underrepresented Benchmates and amplify their voices.
- Bench is now a fully remote organization and will provide a Home Office Setup Fund, to ensure that you have everything you need to work comfortably from home, from day one.
- We will be providing alternative solutions to bring teams together for collaboration and connection.
- We currently focus our hiring efforts in the following provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
Everyone has their own unique talents. Even if you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications outlined above, tell us why you’d be a great fit for this role in your application.
We believe that unchecked biases disproportionately impact the most marginalized people in society—including but not limited to BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+ people, immigrants, and people with disabilities. We strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or other marginalized communities because we believe that without you, we are all less. At Bench, we don’t stand for tokenism. We stand for representation.
