Full-Time Senior IP Engineer

The Senior IP Engineer uses an expert-level skillset to perform tasks related to deploying new technologies and upgrades to the current network infrastructure. 60% of the expected responsibility of this position involves analysis, design, development, and testing.

What you will do to contribute to the company’s success
- Performs complex implementation of new hardware and/or software as it relates to high risk/impact internet operation engineering projects.
- Maintains the lifecycle management environment within the Data Center and Local Offices; Assists with upgrades to the internet product and all-inclusive IP routing/switching.
- Creates Low Level Design (LLD) documentation for configuration templates, method of procedures, network diagrams, knowledge base articles, bill of materials and support documentation.
- Conducts training for new technology integration, technology upgrades, new product design and implementation to relevant Cable One team members
- Analyzes project requests to estimate time and cost.
- Works as part of a project team to determine requirements, risks and limitations for each project scope.
- Performs on-call duties and overnight network changes as assigned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree (B. A) from four-year college or university preferred; and a minimum of five years related progressive experience in a network engineering role.
- Proven demonstration of ability to satisfactorily complete the functions of the IP Engineer I and II positions.
- Previous working background in an MSO (Multiple System Operators) in the cable industry required.
Certificates, licenses, registrations
- Professional Level Networking Certification required (Ex: CCNP).
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be flexible and able to work on-call outside business hours.
- Position will require up to 10% travel.
- Expert level experience in at least one of the following vendor products required: Advanced routing products from Juniper (MX), CISCO (ASR), Optical transport products from Alcatel-Lucent (1830).
- Network design and implementation project experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: backbone, data center, headend, and optical transport. CABLE ONE, INC. JOB DESCRIPTION
- Experience with IPv6, SDN, and other relevant technologies and/or standards preferred
