JOB FUNCTION
Position Summary: The Compliance Manager plays a key role in keeping the Company running smoothly and ensuring compliance and organization within the company. By participating in and owning a broad variety of projects, tasks and assignments, the Compliance Manager makes significant contributions to the organization’s status as a compliance and cannabis industry leader. The Compliance Manager maintains a comprehensive understanding of the many facets of the company’s policies and procedures and all applicable state and local regulations and guidance. The Compliance Manager serves as a trusted resource, advisor, and partner to all departments of the organization. This versatile and adaptable player has the ability and eagerness to jump into various roles and projects to address the ever-changing needs of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in facilitating ongoing company-wide revisions and updates to policies, procedures, protocols, controls, job aid “one-pagers” and initiatives to ensure compliance with state and local regulations, permits, and requests made by the Cannabis Control Commission.
- Aids in improving employee knowledge and proficiency in company policies through assisting with the development and delivery of training to employees.
- Plays a role in maintaining operational compliance through a comprehensive understanding and familiarity of all applicable regulations, guidance documents, and company policies and procedures.
- Takes on projects, tasks and initiatives that contribute to GMF’s operational excellence as directed by the Director of Compliance.
- Identifies areas for opportunity and brings forth and develops initiatives for operational efficiencies or improvement
- Helps to address operational gaps through the development of appropriate protocols and controls
- Plays a leadership role in the development, maintenance, and management of GMF’s Compliance Program
- Works closely with teams across all GMF’s departments, including appointed liaisons, to maintain compliance
- Maintains a comprehensive understanding of GMF’s seed-to-sale inventory tracking and POS system and works closely with the inventory team to ensure effective and practical inventory controls Maintains accurate and up-to-date and compliance and company files, records, trackers, and documentation.
- Manages sensitive and confidential matters like compliance violations, incident reporting documents and action items, personnel matters, and organizational changes, safeguarding the security and confidentiality of information, data, and files.
- Aids in coordinating activities and action items relating to state and local inspections and audits, including but not limited to ongoing License inspections and inventory audits.
- Supports and coordinates other Compliance duties, as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education: Associates Degree or higher
Minimum Experience:
- 18 months (2+ years preferred) MA cannabis industry experience, preferably with Compliance and/or Inventory experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to navigate and intuitively organize digital storage and collaboration software, such as SharePoint
- Willingness to travel, and work from multiple locations as needed
