Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and consistent with the mission of Girls on the Run International (GOTRI), the Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting department of GOTRI and its subsidiaries and ensuring complete and accurate financial records are maintained. This role will oversee internal controls design, optimize accounting department processes, ensure timely financial reporting to organizational stakeholders and lead their team in providing excellent customer service to other departments and divisions. Responsible for hiring, training and supervising accounting staff.
Principal Responsibilities
- Supervise accounting staff
- Responsible for all general ledger accounting: cash receipts, cash disbursements, and journal entries, including all balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly close and processing of financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Record and analyze bank activity; maintenance and reconciliation of bank accounts.
- Support the fiscal year budgeting and reporting.
- Coordinate the management of payroll processes and benefits reconciliation activities
- Oversee the coordination of financial audit and the gathering of required audit information, IRS Form 990 preparations and filing activity.
- Oversee outsourced compliance matters such as sales tax reporting, solicitation licenses and various state payroll filings
- Update and maintain employee onboarding and internal department training materials
General Responsibilities
- Serve as a Girls on the Run role model, exhibiting GOTR core values and working to help achieve the GOTR mission
- Develop positive relationships with council directors, volunteers, board members, community members and staff
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the Chief Financial Officer
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or minimum of five years’ strongly equivalent experience
- Strong excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, INDEX MATCH, CONCATENATE, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enjoys problem solving and increasing efficiencies
- Experience using Microsoft Office products
- Passion for empowering girls to reach their limitless potential!
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA highly favored
- NetSuite or comparable platform experience
This is a full-time, exempt position is offering a compensation range of $68,000 – $75,000, depending on experience. In addition, Girls on the Run offers a generous PTO plan, a benefits package including company-subsidized medical and dental, vision coverage, life insurance, and paid medical leave and a 401k plan with employer match. This position is approximately 40 hours per week and is completely remote.
