The City of Tacoma, Public Works Department is recruiting for the position of Project Manager. This position will provide project management services for capital projects that may include: arterial road projects, facility projects, trail projects, bridge projects and other projects as needed. Projects may be dependent on grant funding timelines and requirements, prior commitments, and coordination and management of project schedules during construction. Public relations and stakeholder communications are critical components to the success of these projects.
This recruitment may also be used to fill future project positions. Project positions provide a great opportunity to join the City of Tacoma and acquire valuable work experience while working on a variety of construction projects.
The following projects are expected to be managed by these positions: Brewery District Complete Streets, S 19th Street Signal & Crosswalk Improvements (S Yakima to Tacoma), McKinley Ave Crosswalk Improvements E 36th & # 37th, East 38th Street (E Portland Ave to SR7), East Portland Street (E 56th St to E 64th St), S Cedar Street Active Transportation Enhancements, Pedestrian Accessibility Improvements, Safe Routes to Schools, Tacoma Spur SB Ramp, Tacoma Spur NB Ramp, Schuster Parkway, Street Initiative Residential Streets Packages, and other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
A Washington State Driver License is required at time of appointment with maintenance thereafter.
