POSITION: Classes and Communications Administrator
DEPARTMENT: 
Berkeley Rep School of Theatre (Education)
REPORTS TO: Director, Berkeley Rep School of Theatre

WORK SCHEDULE: 40hrs/week, Mondays through Fridays with some evening and weekends. Remote until July/August 2021.
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Non-Exempt; benefits eligible after 90 days
COMPENSATION RANGE: $42,000 -$46,000; DOE                             

POSITION SUMMARY
The Tony Award-winning Berkeley Repertory Theatre seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual for the position of Classes and Communications Administrator at the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre. This role utilizes written, communication, financial, customer service, and computer skills, as well as being a public facing role. And as the role is integral to the cross-program communications of the School of Theatre, the position is best served by a candidate who is flexible, organized, clear and kind in their work style, with an interest in education and/or theatre.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Theatre Classes Enrollment and Support

  • Administration and processing of class registration online, by phone and in person
  • Use of Tessitura ticketing system to register students, process payments, discounts, refunds and maintain class records
  • Creation and support of classes paperwork
  • Regular correspondence with faculty, students, and parents
  • Coordination of classroom space use between multiple School of Theatre and Berkeley Rep programs, including liaison with the facilities department
  • Creation and implementation of online class evaluations
  • Coordination of public facing School of Theatre events with the Associate Director, such as Sunday Sampler & final performances, including working with the production department at times

Advertising and Communications

  • Coordinate with Marketing to maintain the brand identity of School of Theatre’s classes for adults, teens, and youth
  • Coordinate written materials within the department, acting as a liaison with marketing, editorial and literary departments on publicity materials, website, and playbill copy
  • Coordinate public email communications and social media for School of Theatre; including using Tessitura to create and manage lists and extractions of School of Theatre patrons
  • Oversee the web calendar, and work with director and Associate Director to meet deadlines in a timely manner when communicating with the rest of the institution

Other Responsibilities

  • Represent Berkeley Rep School of Theatre in the community
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications: A competitive candidate will have experience successfully managing multiple projects.  Must be computer literate and able to multi-task; possess strong budgeting skills; have strong follow-through, attention to detail and enjoy working to support a learning environment. The ideal person for this position thrives in a collaborative, fast paced environment, is a self-starter who is able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong organization and communication skills, especially in writing and copy editing
  • Experience with MS Word Suite
  • Experience with Tessitura or similar Customer Relations Management system is preferred
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Wordfly, mailchimp, etc is a plus
