Full-Time Vice President of Public Affairs/Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts
Job Description
- Lead multi‑year political and legislative strategies aligned with state and national SRHR priorities.
- Advise the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on political risk and opportunity.
- Represent PPAF in coalitions, negotiations, and public forums.
- Oversee all c4 functions including advocacy, electoral work, communications, budgeting, and compliance.
- Partner with the PPAF Board President; serve as primary liaison to the Board.
- Ensure compliance with IRS, campaign finance, and lobbying regulations.
- Direct proactive and defensive strategies on abortion access, contraception, gender‑affirming care, insurance/Medicaid coverage, and health equity.
- Maintain strong relationships with key State House stakeholders.
- Oversee lobbying activities and required reporting.
- Lead the endorsement process, candidate vetting, and political assessments.
- Design and execute c4‑appropriate electoral strategies.
- Build long‑term candidate pipelines and coordinate with national partners.
- Develop and implement a c4 fundraising strategy.
- Engage high‑capacity donors and political supporters.
- Build scalable political infrastructure and clear performance metrics.
- Lead the Policy & Government Relations team.
- Coordinate political strategy with Organizing, Communications, Development, and Data teams.
- Educate staff and board members on c3/c4 distinctions.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree preferred (JD, MPP, MPH, MPA, MBA); substantial equivalent experience considered.
- 10–15+ years senior-level leadership in political strategy, public policy, campaigns, or advocacy.
- Demonstrated experience with 501(c)(4) or campaign operations.
- Established credibility within the Massachusetts political landscape.
- Deep understanding of c3/c4 compliance and campaign finance law.
- Proven success in endorsements, electoral strategy, and political fundraising.
- Strong strategic judgment, communication skills, and executive presence.
- Commitment to reproductive freedom, health equity, and justice.
Salary:
$175,000-$200,000
