Team & Function
The Compliance Data, Reporting and Analytics (CDRA) Team sits within Risk & Compliance Strategy Planning. The team’s focus is the centralization of data for all areas of Compliance by building out an innovative platform with dashboards that provide BNY Mellon’s leadership with actionable intelligence and information management to support prompt decision making.
Job Responsibilities:
Works with client, transaction, and compliance data to develop statistical, financial and/or econometric models.
Leads data modelling and quantitative analysis projects and serves as resource to less experienced colleagues.
Rapidly assess, transform, and create relationships within and between data sets, applications, and processes.
Uses tools like SQL and Alteryx to query, analyze, and extract data for populating models.
Establish partnerships with source system owners, technology, and the business to obtain data and understand data limitations (i.e., scope of data, attribute definitions, linkages to other datasets)
Provides analytical project management support for assigned area with minimal guidance.
Document the data transformation process including data workflow charts and diagrams.
Perform root cause analysis for data quality errors; research and find scope and complexity of issues and find the steps for remediation.
Partner with the broader BNYM data community to socialize and drive best practices with Alteryx and PowerBI.
To be successful in this role, we are seeking a candidate with the following required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience needed.
Degree in math, engineering, statistics, computational finance, or economics preferred.
7+ relevant years of total work experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced data profiling experience using SQL skill with financial industry experience.
Knowledge of the structuring of data environments and applications that use big data processes is a preferred.
Experience with Business Intelligence data management and visualization applications specific to Hadoop big data and the ability to use SQL/Hive and other computer languages used in big data for analysis and structuring is preferred.
Competency with leading data profiling tools such as SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, Python, or other data querying tools
Competency with data governance tools (Collibra, IDQ)
Experience with issue management systems
Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills
Program management skill preferred.
Familiar with logical data model
Experience with reference data and master data preferred.
