Full-Time Utilities Engineering Technician II – NEW HIGHER PAY!
Job Description
- Deliver excellent customer service and be the first point of contact for customers and NCDOT staff requesting access to NCDOT’s Encroachment Permitting portal.
- Demonstrate your skilled attention to detail, ability to work well in a team environment, and apply your strong customer service/communication skills while troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Monitor and track statewide data on our Encroachment Permitting portal for encroachments submitted to the Utilities team from all District Engineer offices.
- Facilitate, track, and provide access to encroachment-related documents managed by our Encroachments team.
- Assist our Encroachments team with data management, GIS mapping, and reporting related to our Encroachments portal and related documents.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and duties.
- Computer skills to update, maintain, and export data stored in spreadsheets, databases, SharePoint applications, GIS/apps, and web browsers.
- Experience performing work requiring strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and prioritization to effectively manage data and/or your workload.
- Experience communicating moderately-complex technical information in professional correspondence, reports and verbally to employees, external customers, and management.
- Customer service experience and good communications skills to interact with other teams, employees, and customers.
- Skills to interpret engineering plans and apply civil engineering principals related to the construction or design of roads, utilities, or non-utilities found in the right of way.
- Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field, and
- 2+ years of progressive engineering technician experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
