WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• • Lived experience, acknowledging that algorithms and UX design is only as diverse as the people who develop the code
  • Respect and understanding of marginalized identities, diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Understanding of Data and AI ethics implications

• Well versed in usability factors in human-computer interaction and the ethical implications therein

• Able to produce scalable software solutions as part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. 

• • Knowledge of Adobe range of products including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, inVision or Sketch
  • Experience with HTML and CSS

• Experience using React

• Ability to discuss and explain design options
• A desire to own your work and make business decisions within your domain of expertise
• Extremely self-motivated with strong time management skills 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 
• The ability to communicate clearly, both by speaking directly and writing concisely
• The ability and desire to learn quickly and adapt to new/changing priorities
• A team player who works productively and cooperatively with a wide range of people and styles
• Open to lengthy ethical discussions in regard to UI/UX experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop visually appealing front end website architecture, including translating designer mock-ups and wireframes into front-end code

• Advise on and design UX experience in regard to security and data protection settings

• Work with Lead Web Developer to ideate software solutions

• Participate in the design and creation of scalable software

• Ensure that non-functional requirements such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are being considered when architecting solutions.
• Write technical documentation of developed features that include projected ethical implications

• Continually test, troubleshoot, debug, upgrade and generally improve upon completed tasks throughout the duration of the contract

• Stay abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8 hours a day Mon-Fri (Contract employees are flexible, these just represent our general working hours)
•    In-home office setup including Mac or PC Computer (including webcam) with minimum  

 1.0ghz dual-core processor, 8gb

• A fast and reliable internet connection
• Smartphone with email capabilities
• Designated professional, quiet space
• Willingness to use Slack on a daily basis for communication

NOTES

• This position is fully remote
• 40 hours per week = 8 hours per day Mon-Fri with flexibility
• Pay is $60.00 per hour 
• This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position 
• Position is to begin in March, 2021 and continues through June 30th, 2021, with a possibility to extend
• Signed Non-Disclosure Agreement mandatory for job acceptance
