For this role, we can consider candidates nationwide. However, the successful candidate will need to commute to their nearest SMS office as and when required (offices are in Glasgow, Doncaster, Cardiff, Bolton, and Newport).

What’s the role?

At SMS plc, within our Home Energy Solutions Division, we are in a start-up phase, looking to bring to market a range of energy solutions to domestic customers in the UK through a variety of channels.
We want to be the UK’s No.1 partner for the development, deployment, and management of Home Energy Solutions. Providing turnkey solutions, financing, quality delivery, data, and flexibility services. We have ambitious plans to grow the business to offer Customers the best products, customer journey, and support. The team is passionate, motivated, and hardworking and we are looking for our next team member, a Technical Coordinator. This person will have the potential to grow within the department and have a team of their own as operations scale.

SMS currently have UK offices in Glasgow, Cardiff, Doncaster, Bolton and Newmarket. We are able to consider candidates for this role so long as you would be within a commutable distance to one of these sites. This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with 2 days a week in office and 3 at home as a rough guideline.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the sales and technical teams to ensure that all project details and design information meet the required standards before progressing to sale and installation.
  • Submit and manage grid applications. Be the technical liaison for grid application requirements.
  • Set up, monitoring and management of online monitoring platforms.
  • Providing first line of technical support to customer services team and direct to customers.
  • Supporting the design engineer in all areas of system design and design review.
  • Providing technical support to sales team throughout survey and sales process.
  • Collating and preparing design packs for delivery team.
  • Technical review and approval of survey and design information for the sales team.
  • Support the development of future business opportunities and value streams.
  • Create and document processes and ways of working.
  • Any other duties as required.

 

To be considered for the role, we would love you to have:

  • Experience in the design of solar PV, battery storage and EV charging systems.
  • Knowledge of the principles of renewable energy technologies.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of Microsoft D365, procurement and payment Processes.
  • Proficiency with typical corporate IT software and systems.
  • Exceptional and professional communication skills, as you will engage various stakeholders through the value chain and will be comfortable in the office and occasionally on site or at supplier sites.
  • Experience with renewable energy design packages.
  • Experience in preparing and revising technical drawings.
  • The ability to manage multiple teams across sites showing excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain customer relationships to ensure customers delighted and future growth opportunities.
