Job Description
As a part of Sony Electronics’ engineering team you will build fast, responsive, applications and features for Sony devices and related online services. We build high quality, user focused solutions for Sony devices including Sony TVs and Blu-ray Players where performance and user experience is critical.
The ideal candidate enjoys development and learning not just as a job, but as a hobby. We look for individuals who enjoy understanding new languages, frameworks, and optimizing their code. Using and/or contributing to open-source front-end frameworks is a big plus. Applicants should have a solid understanding and experience with object-oriented code and programming principles, as well as experience with unit testing code, continuous integration and test-driven development.
Responsibilities:
As part of the Systems Operations team, you will be responsible for:
Manage and maintain existing infrastructure, both cloud and physical
Monitor, and troubleshoot issues with physical servers, virtual servers, and Cisco/related networking gear
Prepare proper monitoring is in place for all environments
Identify automation opportunities, design and develop solutions to improve operations efficiency
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
3+ years of professional experience in an engineering role.
Experience managing Amazon Web Services using Ansible/CloudFormation/Terraform
Experience with IT operations using Linux, both on site and in the cloud
Experience with Cisco switches and related networking equipment
Highly Preferred:
Ability to code and script in relevant languages
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Splunk, CloudWatch)
Experience with Continuous Integration Tools (Jenkins, Code Pipeline)
Experience with Infrastructure Automation (Ansible, CloudFormation)
Comfort with frequent, incremental automated acceptance testing and deployment
Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional areas
Extensive experience in developing automated deployment scripts and tools for system provisioning and configuration
Capable of quickly troubleshooting complex problems, understanding dependencies and deducing the root cause of issues
