Full-Time Specialist, Corporate Tax
Develops and delivers process documentation, training content, and super user support and ensures content is delivered. Assigned businesses/business partner areas are typically medium to large in size and moderately complex. Uses understanding of tax regulatory environment specific to the banking and financial services industry. Recognized as the Corporate Tax point of contact and subject matter expert within the assigned businesses/business partner areas. Reviews and monitors the day-to-day tax activities of the Corporate Tax function and ensures compliance with the Bank’s policies and IRS regulations on information reporting and withholding. Contributes to the establishment of the corporate tax strategy for the business/business partner area and is responsible for ensuring the implementation of that strategy. Leverages corporate tax techniques to achieve business objectives. Validates the monthly review of proformas, performs year end reconcilement of various documents and systems, and ensures the accurate and timely submission of required forms and state returns. Develops plans for remediating deficiencies and tracks the remediation status of the various business units.Reviews and approves the non-payroll tax deposits, accounting entries and wire payments processed by junior level staff. Ensures deposits of non-payroll federal and state taxes are fully documented and remitted to external committees in a timely manner.Identifies Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and manage business performance, develop the metrics tracking mechanisms and works with senior staff to provide insights to the outcomes of the scorecard reporting.Begins to build strategic relationships to influence at all levels of the organization. Liaises with lines of businesses and reporting vendors to ensure proper reporting of tax information.Supervises, motivates and guides more junior corporate tax roles. No direct reports. Provides technical advice/guidance to less experienced Corporate Tax roles as needed.Responsibilities are primarily limited to assigned business/business partner areas. However, tasks may produce cross-regional impacts. Modified based upon local regulations/requirements.Bachelor‘s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 5-7 years of total work experience in market risk preferred.
