Full-Time Senior Splunk Administrator (Remote)

LOCATION: This role is fully remote eligible within the US. If located in Jacksonville, FL, some onsite may be required.

JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the analysis, development, modification, instal lation, testing and maintenance of the Splunk environment at Black Knight. The Senior Splunk Administrator works in conjunction with monitoring team in the overall architecture and operational stability of Enterprise Splunk. Responsible for administering, logging, and monitoring for on-prem and cloud Splunk environments.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizes Splunk to creatively architect, and/or resolve unusual/undefined problems.
  • Codes complex design elements and architectural components for Splunk.
  • Analyzes accumulated Splunk data to identify ways of optimizing performance in a complex environment.
  • Manages, configures and patches the Splunk environment as needed.
  • Develops dashboards and other solutions for custom data sources with Splunk.
  • Monitors the basic health and integrity of the system.
  • Evaluates Splunk and makes recommendations to IT management.
  • Modifies and/or debugs Splunk.
  • Diagnoses, isolates and de-bugs software Splunk problems and performs problem resolution.
  • Monitors systems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster recovery procedures, and provides Tier 2 technical support.
  • Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES

None required however Splunk certifications, IBM certifications, Cisco certifications, Microsoft certifications, and/or any computing or information technology certifications a plus.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Skilled in Index Configuration, Performance Monitoring and Query language preferred
  • Experience designing, configuring and maintaining Splunk infrastructure
  • Experience on Linux OS preferred
  • Experience with Storage a plus
  • Experience with Ansible and Configuration Management preferred
  • Experience in Splunk administration and/or engineering
  • Experience working in cloud environments a plus
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop partnership-oriented relationships with business executives and functional leaders, especially as it relates to operations and technology
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with focus on timeliness, documentation, and communications with peers and business users alike
  • Experience with project management a plus
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels within Black Knight or outside the organization (executives, regulators, clients, etc.)
  • Results oriented, business focused, and successful at interfacing across multiple organizational units

Lead/expert level role. Serves as a lead for the analysis, development, modification, installation, testing and maintenance of operating systems software that is significant or strategic to the enterprise. Works on varied, highly complex tasks, projects, activities or support issues that require expertise in multiple technical environments, specific business area(s) and multiple significant or strategic products/systems. Recognized as an expert internally and often provides strategic direction, guidance and integration of products and services. Develops solutions requiring analysis and research. Works on multiple projects, products and activities as a project team member or often as a project leader or subject matter expert. May coach and/or mentor more junior technical staff. Typically requires eight (8) years of experience in systems administration and programming.
