About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and strategically minded Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications Services to play a critical leadership role in ensuring the effective planning, development, and execution of Diabetes Canada’s marketing and communications initiatives. This position oversees an internal agency‑style model, managing both in‑house creative talent and external partners to deliver high‑quality, brand‑aligned work across the organization.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Marketing & Brand, the Senior Manager works closely with Marketing & Communications Leads and Business Unit leaders to ensure that strategic objectives are translated into cohesive, compelling creative outputs. The role is responsible for optimizing workflows, coordinating priorities across multiple stakeholders, and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and to a consistently high standard. In doing so, the Senior Manager contributes to advancing Diabetes Canada’s brand presence, organizational goals, and mission impact.

- Develop, refine and maintain efficient and transparent creative services processes, workflows, creative briefs, and determine resourcing requirements.
- Maintain the organization-wide integrated marketing and communications calendar, ensuring it is current, and optimized by audience and channel.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to audience oversaturation, channel collisions, and competing priorities.
Business Unit & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Build a strong understanding of Business Unit goals and upcoming initiatives, translating these into well‑defined creative requirements and deliverables.
- Facilitate meetings with internal stakeholders to initiate new projects, guide approval processes, and support the adoption of Marketing & Communications Services best practices.
Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Provide direction and support to two direct reports – the Project Manager and Design & Production Specialist – ensuring clarity of expectations and high‑quality performance.
- Oversee the work of freelance designers, copywriters, and external agencies to ensure effective service delivery across all creative outputs.
- Oversee and facilitate Quarterly Initiatives, Briefs, and Brainstorms meetings, preparing agendas, content, speakers, and follow‑up documentation.
- Stay current in market and industry trends to aid in the development of cutting-edge marketing, digital and advertising creative concepts and call to actions (CTAs).
Note: This role is not limited to the responsibilities listed above and may include other duties as required.
