What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years professional experience in insurance industry; a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the individual life insurance industry
- Knowledge of how life insurers use consumer data across the insurance value chain (e.g., marketing, underwriting, portfolio management, and claims)
- A drive to be a student of the life insurance industry, including the ability to design market research, deduce insights, establish a point of view, and leverage the point of view to benefit our growth strategy and priorities
- Strategic thinking with the ability to draw connections between client needs, the competitive landscape, and TransUnion capabilities
- The ability to define and establish longer term visions and strategies as well as the ability to translate those into executable and measurable actions
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment and in cross-functional collaborations; the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Legal, etc.)
- The ability to convey complex business initiatives in an easily understood, consistent message across a variety of audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to inform and motivate audiences; superior verbal and written communication capabilities
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivated with the ability to manage numerous priorities at one time
- Experience with the creation and delivery of presentations, particularly to public and executive audiences
Preferred skills:
- Professional experience in life and group life insurance (including reinsurance), employee benefits, and/or health insurance industries
- Talent management and development
- Analytical skillset, including familiarity with Excel, Salesforce.com, pipeline reporting and analysis, and pricing
- Experience managing and/or working with strategic partners or third-party data providers
Impact You’ll Make:
The mission of the Insurance Market Planning Team is to establish and direct the execution of the growth strategy for each line of business within the Insurance vertical. The Senior Director, Life Insurance Market Planning reports directly to the Vice President, Insurance Market Planning and is responsible for developing and directing the growth strategy for the Life Insurance line of business.
Specifically you will:
- Assess the life Insurance market and develop near and long-term growth strategies for the life insurance business
- Work with key internal stakeholders across a matrix organization to prioritize and execute operational activities derived from the growth strategy
- Identify, prioritize, and validate new product concepts that represent future growth potential
- Develop business cases to support the development of new product concepts and investment in growth initiatives
- Establish and maintain the product roadmap for the life insurance business
- Serve as the life insurance industry subject matter expert supporting key internal stakeholders to position, promote, sell, and support TransUnion’s solutions in the market
- Help establish the agenda, lead research, and develop thought leadership content designed to address the market’s most pressing questions
- Manage strategic partnerships to ensure the continuity and growth of relationships
- Partner with Government Relations to monitor changes in the regulatory environment and protect the industry’s use of consumer data
- Interrogate the Sales pipeline and partner with Finance, Sales, and Product to maintain revenue forecast
- Support the development of the International insurance growth strategy, including subject matter expertise with key growth initiatives

Pay Scale Information :
The salary range for this position is $156,700.00 – $258,500.00. *The salary range for this position reflects the general range of compensation for this job and does not include our bonus incentive(s). This position is eligible for bonus incentive(s). At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position, and market considerations.
