Full-Time Senior Communications Manager

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking a passionate, strategic, detail-oriented Senior Communications Manager to join our growing organization. In this role, you will tell the world about the PAX brand, our innovation and category-leading products, and the values that shape who we are. You will craft and execute internal and external communications strategies and storytelling, to help drive awareness and deliver the best consumer cannabis experiences. You will have your finger on the pulse of consumer trends, maintain a strong network of media connections and be dialed across social. Most meaningfully, you will value the opportunity — and the responsibility that comes with the privilege — of helping to craft the future of the cannabis industry.

As the PAX Communications Manager, you will:

  • Develop and execute creative public relations strategies to drive transparency around our brand, existing products, future launches, and promotions
  • Own day-to-day public relations efforts, fostering strong working relationships with media
  • Craft compelling written and visual content for a wide array of channels, including press releases, articles, reports, blog, social content, presentations and more
  • Facilitate coverage analysis, reporting and measurement against team critical metrics
  • Develop creative strategies to amplify key initiatives and events, including marketing programs and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives
  • Plan content and lead all aspects of execution of internal communications program, including company All-Hands, team communications and more, to ensure employees are informed on company vision, strategy and key initiatives
  • Support executive communications, including the development of thought leadership strategies, management of our internal speaker’s bureau and penning communications
  • Deliver detailed program management of campaigns, events, programs and more
  • Report to the Sr. Director, Comms & Public Affairs and manage one team member

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU: 

  • 8+years of meaningful experience in public relations; agency experience preferred
  • Experience at a high-growth cannabis, technology and/or CPG company preferred
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; excellent copywriting and content creation, with a knack for storytelling and simplifying sophisticated topics into clear messages
  • Self-starter with superior organizational, project management and leadership skills; a confident problem-solver with a clear point of view and the experience to back it up
  • Ability to effectively handle public relations agencies and external partners
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, with the ability to influence, build consensus and drive collaboration, particularly amongst senior executives
  • Ability to think visually, leading designers, providing clear creative feedback, and developing compelling presentations and graphics to support key narratives
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest media, industry and social trends; including the current events and policy issues affecting our business
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, english, or equivalent relevant work experience
