Would you like to use your leadership and development skills to provide a great staff and member experience?  As the Senior Aquatics Program Director, you will oversee the development and operations of aquatics programs for a large branch, as defined by budget size, staff count, and program scope and scale. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating employees and volunteers to ensure staff are representative of the mission of the YMCA.

In addition, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, developing, and monitoring all aquatics department operations, be responsible for staff development, administration, fiscal management, connecting members, and program development. You will also meet performance measurement through annual giving, major gifts, and/or endowment by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social services, recreation, business, OR equivalent.
  • Four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fund-raising.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, excellent interpersonal and team building skills, and a heart for our mission.
  • Positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations.
  • YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification preferred.
  • Trainer of CPRO, AED, and First Aid preferred.
  • YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent, CPR for the Professional, AED First Aid, and Oxygen certification, OR ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Starting Wage: $25.36+ per hour, depending on experience

Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week
