Position Description
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Water, the Senior Analyst will conduct insightful research to catalyze policy change. The analysis will support EPIC’s aims to replace lead service lines, eliminate disparities in funding and financing infrastructure, increase investment in nature-based solutions, and provide technical assistance to disadvantaged communities as well as rapid-response work on other emerging issues at the state and federal levels. The Senior Analyst will contribute to solutions that add significant value to the water sector.

Responsibilities
● Engage with water policymakers at the state and federal level
● Conduct quick and insightful policy analysis
● Track developments of key executive and legislative efforts
● Develop and lead strategic responses to windows to catalyze change
● Make frequent recommendations through expert testimonies and public comments
● Participate in work groups, webinars, convenings, and public events
● Write reports, case studies, blogs, and grant reports

Qualifications
Candidates must have:
● Passion for equity and justice
● Graduate degree (MBA, MS, MEM, MF, MPA or JD)
● 5+ years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: water, infrastructure, advocacy and organizing, public policy and administration, community partnerships
● Experience leading initiatives that require carrying forward a vision, strategic thinking, quick decision-making, and forming and sharing opinions on policy
● Strong people and program management skills
● Excellent communications skills

We will prioritize candidates who can bring:
● A strong publication record
● Understanding of water utility management
● Creative thinking
● A broad network of contacts with government agencies
● Track record of successful fundraising

Location
Depending on pandemic-related conditions, this position normally requires travel to meetings, conferences, and other events. Work other than travel is done either in an office environment at EPIC’s Washington, DC office or at the candidate’s home office.

Compensation and time commitment
EPIC offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience as well as a generous benefits package.

Salary range
$75,000-$85,000
