Full-Time SBA Program Manager (Req#1039)

Job Description

Oversees and responsible for the Bank’s SBA program.  Subject matter expert in all SBA related processes and requirements.  Lead SBA Champions group.  Personally develop commercial business through the SBA, and partner with other business development officers throughout the bank to explore leads and ultimately close deals. As a Senior Vice President, makes management decisions that are mutually beneficial to the Bank and the customer, and seeks guidance from superiors in situations of uncertainty.

Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Enrich Eastern Bank’s expertise and specialty in SBA financing to expand the existing SBA segment of the business line.
  • Promote Eastern’s SBA program externally including speaking at events and other outreach to interested parties.
  • Develop and deliver a training program internally in order to provide the bank’s business development officers with the knowledge and skill necessary to properly identify, recommend, and originate SBA credits to eligible customers and prospects.
  • Coordinate calling and relationship management activities with internal business partners in the investments, treasury, retail, and insurance lines.
  • In partnership with the Default Management team, manage the collections process including submission of repurchase requests
  • Responsible for reporting on all SBA loans
  • Conduct underwriting and structure of credit requests.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of relevant SBA experience required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of credit
  • Comprehensive understanding of SBA products with proven track record originating and structuring SBA transactions
  • Prior sales training preferred
  • Proven leadership capabilities

Skill and Knowledge

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including well-developed group and individual presentation skills
  • Strong sales skills in a fast-paced environment; able to utilize full range of prospecting sales activities.
  • Technologically proficient
  • Assertive self-starter able to work independently
