Full-Time Revenue Accounting Manager

This role, an exciting new addition to the Finance/Accounting team, sits at the intersection of traditional revenue accounting, business operations, and financial analysis.  The job will expand and challenge your knowledge of ASC 606 accounting concepts and Excel modeling skills to support a business with exciting technology and provide continued growth to learn and broaden your business acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Run the full Contract-to-Cash process including the monthly revenue close process, focusing on process improvements and scalability
  • Be the subject matter expert on, maintain, and improve the complex revenue bookings, calculations, and revenue and cash forecast excel model and customer usage model
  • Identify areas to implement systems automation to scale the business’ growth and reduce risk
  • Perform sensitivity analysis as to how new developments may impact the current business, cash flow, and financial results
  • Ensure accurate calculations of customer usage and timely invoicing of usage, SaaS, and services
  • Prepare contract summaries for material completed transactions
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations, analyses, and presentations for executive leadership and the board of directors
  • Assess and maintain schedule of customer life and deferred contract costs under ASC 606
  • Assist in technical accounting research and documentation 
  • Prepare ad hoc revenue analyses as requested and respond to auditor questions
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of revenue recognition software in accordance to ASC 606
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or another related field of study
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.  Combination of public and private accounting and a CPA
  • Strong understanding of the principles of revenue recognition under ASC606 
  • ADVANCED Microsoft Excel Skills REQUIRED (working with/improving COMPLEX financial models)
  • Previous financial analysis experience within SaaS and recurring revenue preferred
  • Strong financial and analytical skills including experience creating complex financial models and efficiently communicating results
  • SaaS or software industry experience in a medium size tech company preferred
  • Experience with an ERP, Netsuite a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
