Full-Time Restaurant Manager
A Restaurant Manager in an energetic person who leads by example, sets the pace, and provides assistance where needed and contributes to building a positive team spirit.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the store’s needs; including nights, weekends and holidays, varied hours/days, opening and closing of the store. Ensures high customer-service standards.
Standard schedule is 45+ hour work week
Knowledge of equipment and software including, but not limited to: phone systems, printers/fax machines, spreadsheets, word processing, email, inventory programs, Point of Sale (POS) programs, Internet applications, forums, and social media sites.
Must have a strong passion for food and beer
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
3+ years minimum of restaurant management experience
Cicerone or Beer Server Certification a plus
Surly started with a simple motto, “Its all about the BEER.” Well, in the Surly Beer Hall, its’s also about the food. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of the Beer Hall, supporting the staff, and making the guest experience a valuable one. This position reports to the General Manager. General duties include:
Ensures that each guest receives outstanding service by providing a friendly, clean, and organized environment.
Maintains outstanding standards, solid product knowledge (both of food and beer), and all other components of customer service.
Opening and Closing shifts, depending on semi rotating schedule.
Works with the marketing department for marketing needs
Assessing monthly inventory and submitting to accounting
Assists with social media marketing and promotional events.
Manages inventory levels, using inventory counts to maintain accuracy on a daily basis.
Supervises/advises full and part time staff under the direction of the General Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Balances registers according to accounting and security procedures.
Regularly monitors email for critical business information and responds in a timely fashion.
Brings potentially systematic problems that require immediate action to the attention of the General Manager
Sets the pace on the restaurant floor. Creates a positive team environment with the beer hall.
Schedules and maintains staffing plans.
Host continued training sessions with staff in regard to furthering beer and food knowledge
Any other responsibilities as assigned by General Manager
