Position Summary
This position is funded by multiple grants focused on youth mentoring research and closely related research topics. The position is responsible for research coordination of these grant projects including preparing IRB materials, participant recruitment, gathering ethnographic observations, administering surveys and qualitative interviews, preparing data for analysis, assisting with quantitative and qualitative analyses, and writing reports.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Research
- Collaborate with Principal Investigator on several research projects on the role of youth mentoring in promoting positive youth development.
- Coordinate and assist with participant recruitment and data collection
- Prepare and clean data in SPSS for analysis; assist with quantitative data analysis.
- Code data in qualitative software program.
- Contribute to manuscript writing, submissions and revisions.
- Assist with conceptualization and preparation of new research protocols.
- Prepare survey measures, interview guides, and observation protocols.
- Assist with writing and submitting IRB applications and modifications.
- Communication:
- Write up results for conference presentations, manuscripts, annual reports and other forms of dissemination.
- Staff Management:
- Supervise, train and guide undergraduate research assistants on assigned research tasks.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required.
- Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices and procedures.
- Entry level knowledge of research methods.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior demonstrated experience in conducting research and bilingual fluency in Spanish/English.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
